Due to uncertain times we are not taking pre-orders for 2020. We will still be growing an abundance of food, but will operate off of a mailing list instead of our usual CSA model. When we have a harvest available we will send out an email with details. Orders will be available for pickup from the farm. We appreciate your patience & understanding!

CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture and over the last twenty-five years or so has become a popular way for people to add a consistent supply of seasonal vegetables to their table. Here’s how it works – members pay up front at the beginning of the season when the farmer typically has the most expenses (seeds, irrigation, new animals, etc.). They pay in advance to receive a share in the harvest throughout the season. Once produce begins to be harvested, members get a weekly box of freshly picked veggies for the duration of the season. We are planning this year’s season to run from early-mid June through mid-late October. A CSA is a great way to build a relationship with your food and actually get to talk to the farmer, see the plants in the fields, and really know what’s fresh and in season without having to make guesses at the grocery store. Plus, it’s a HUGE support to the farmer, since we don’t have to worry about selling items a la carte, we don’t have to store produce after harvesting, and we get to really showcase new and exciting varieties like purple radishes or white tomatoes along with the usual classics.

Our CSA will start small IMG_2362with mostly greens – lettuce, spinach, green onions, and pea shoots for example. As we progress into the season we’ll see Swiss chard, carrots, beets, and peas. Summer will bring tomatoes, eggplant, cucumber, zucchini, beans, and peppers. Fall’s rich flavors will include a variety of winter squashes, parsnips, pumpkins, apples, leeks, and onions. Of course, each year means different weather and some crops will thrive and others might not. While we can’t guarantee any particular crops, we’ll grow enough variety to keep a bounty on your plate. If you LOVE beets and HATE kale then just let us know! We’re happy to accommodate your preferences. That’s one of the perks of working directly with your farmer!

Our CSA share comes in a single medium size, featuring 4-6 varieties of produce. We encourage our members with smaller appetites to split a share with a friend. Families often purchase a double share.

CSA boxes are available a la carte, monthly, or seasonally as follows:

• SINGLE BOX [$20]
• MONTHLY BOX – four weeks [$75]
• FULL SEASON BOX – sixteen weeks [$299]

CSA boxes are available for pick up either at the farm or at the Lynden Farmers Market. Pickup days are Tuesday evenings and Saturdays. We do not offer delivery. Visiting the farm on a regular basis is a nice way to keep in touch, see where your food comes from, and maybe have the kids toss some treats to the chickens. We believe in the idea of community around food and want to foster a relationship with our members.

LYNDEN FARMERS MARKET – Saturdays 10am – 2pm
FARM PICKUP – Saturdays 3:30pm – 5:30pm or Tuesdays 5:30pm – 7:00pm
