Our Purpose:

Rabble and Roost is a small 5 acre farm specializing in organically grown, wholesome, and nutrient-dense produce. We encourage our customers to come experience the farm and see how we use regenerative practices to care for the land and all it produces. Our tiny little farm gives us great pride, and we are constantly working to make it a shining example of local sustainable agriculture.

Our Family:

Rabble and Roost is owned and operated by Dakota Stranik. Dakota was born and raised in Alaska and worked on large and small farms throughout the country before settling in Whatcom County in 2014. She is dedicated to sustainable agriculture and is an active participant in the Lynden Farmers Market Board, the Food To Bank On program through Sustainable Connections, and the Whatcom County Agricultural Advisory Committee. She holds a degree from Cornell University. Her husband, Lyndon Hirai, is from Kennewick, WA and came to Bellingham in 2015 where he attended Western Washington University. Lyndon works outside the farm but in his free time he enjoys managing a small cider orchard and cooking from scratch using the bounty from the gardens. Baby Drayton joined the crew in October of 2020. He enjoys sampling the farm products for quality control.

Our Methods:

We believe nourishing food can only be grown while also nourishing the land. Our growing methods are designed to work in partnership with the ecosystem, without synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, or GMOs. We practice sustainable soil management, crop diversification, and habitat preservation methods.
